An antique islamic intaglio seal made of carved agate and set in a silver bezel attached to a silver hinged holder which could be hung on a chain.  The carnelian is beautifully carved with Arabic calligraphy but is so worn that it is almost imperceptible. There are various dents and scratches commensurate with its age. The last photo shows the impression this seal would make when pressed into hot wax.
